RAP (Recess Alternative Program)

Windermere staff and PTO are working together to offer RAP (a recess alternative program) for our kids during the long winter months. Lots of indoor recess leads to lots of jumpy kids! The RAP program will allow students to play board games, build, play in the gym and use a fun exercise program called Go Noodle during indoor recess. We are asking families to donate new or gently used games and building supplies for the program. Please click on the Sign-Up Genius link below to donate to the fun! Place all donations in the boxes marked RAP at the front of school. We would like to have all donations by October 30th.

Click here to donate games and supplies:

In a few months, we'll be asking for parent volunteers to help supervise the RAP rooms. This will be a one hour shift (11:00 am to 12 noon), and a fun thing for working parents to do on their lunch break! Stay tuned for details.

Walking Wednesday

Change Your Way. Walk UA!

Why walk?
• Physical activity
• Teach safe walking skills to children
• Awareness of how walkable our community is and where improvements can be made
• Concern for the environment
• Reducing traffic congestion, pollution and speed near schools
• Sharing time with community parents and children

How do I participate in Walking Wednesdays?

You can meet at one of the four designated locations (on the back of this flyer) at the specified time, or join a group en route, or walk to school with your family. Or hop on your bike or scooter!

Bus rider? No problem! Have a parent take you to one of the four route starting points.

Our parent captains will escort you and your classmates safely to Windermere.

Fall Family Fun Night

We would like to give a big thank you to Crisi Acker, Christina Balderaz, and Sarah Harper for planning such a wonderful event for the Windermere community. The kids were having a great time with all the games and activities and of course the large spread of chilis for everyone to try. The scarecrows are always a big hit with the students. The weather was perfect. We also would like to thank all the volunteers because it would not be possible without you. You are very important piece to PTO and what can be accomplished for the students. A BIG THANKS TO EVERYONE!!!

Scholastic Book Fair

The Book Fair was successful again this year thanks to Teresa Harper and the volunteers who took their time to work it. It is so exciting to see the students so excited to be able to come and pick out a book to purchase. As Dr. Seuss would say, "More that you read, the more things that you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go". Never stop reading!!
